Salary: £30K - £35K per annum
Software Tester (manual testing) required for a software company in Aberdeen.
This company is fast-growing and put technology first - with some grand plans for the future! They are delving into interesting and growing areas of technology like artificial intelligence and are leaders in their field (genuinely!).
This role (which is a brand-new position) is based within their testing team (which focuses on both manual and automated testing). You will be responsible for creating a testing plan and schedule as well as carrying out manual testing across third party products to ensure that they are compatible with the company's products. This means that you will be a strong communicator as you'll be owning and building relationships with both stakeholders and third parties regularly (this will be about 10% of the role).
It's a pretty great opportunity - not many roles will simultaneously be able to offer such autonomy in a more entry level role, as well as immediate responsibilities and support to develop your skills.
This would be an ideal role if you are interested in a career change into testing or are fairly junior and looking to take on more responsibilities.
Long term, the company would love to bring someone on board who is keen to make a career out of software testing, and they will do all they can to facilitate this - by offering the opportunity to jump into different teams/roles within the testing team to allow you to experience different aspects of testing, whether manual or automated, and find out what aspects of testing you are passionate about!
You will have most of the following skills/experience:
** Some exposure/experience to manual testing/testing techniques
** Demonstrable experience in a role that needs strong communication skills (Business Analyst, Customer Support etc.)
** Agile environment
They've also got a stunning new office (church conversion), in the centre of Aberdeen (so easily accessible) that they would be keen to welcome employees into, at least on a part-time basis when COVID allows. Long-term, although they would love people in the office full-time, they are open to looking at remote working a couple days a week.
Salary wise, they can offer around £30,000 - £35,000, and offer a benefits package with perks like private medical insurance.
If getting involved in a unique company who are doing innovative things in the area of artificial intelligence and data is your thing, then please do apply!
Too long, didn't read/scrolled to the bottom quickly? This is an entry level role, ideal for someone looking to break into testing. Because of the strong relationships required when working with a third party, you'll have prior experience as a strong communicator - maybe as a Business Analyst, or customer support, or IT support.
