SQL DBA urgently required for a rapidly growing business who are doing some seriously interesting work when it comes to data.
The Company & Role:
Having recently doubled in size, the business is looking to add to their already established IT team in order to keep up with demand. Working in a future proof industry, you will be instrumental in the upgrade and upkeep of the databases across the business, whilst also lending a hand with the Data Planning which will be vital to the future of the company.
The data planning aspect is likely to be unlike anything you have done before due to the industry you will be coming into. However, it is very cutting edge and interesting work - looking at predicting maintenance and lifetime of very complex assets and using data at the forefront of what is a rapidly expanding organisation.
If you are the type of person who likes to work in a modern environment, working with the latest technology and works effectively in an autonomous atmosphere then this is the role for you.
Key Skills Required:
** Expertise in design and implementation of MS SQL Server Databases
** Understanding of the MS BI suite - SSIS, SSAS, SSRS and PowerBI would be helpful
** Data Scraping, cleansing, normalisation, disaster recovery planning
** Experienced in evaluating, implementing and selecting DBA tools to improve efficiency
** Any SharePoint experience would be really useful but isn't a "must have".
** Excellent communication skills and any experience in stakeholder engagement is essential as you'll be dealing with people right across the business from very technical, to very em - un-technical?!
Due to ongoing events, you will be provided with all the essential tools required to make a success out of this opportunity from the comfort of your own home.
This includes a high spec laptop, accompanied by a 27" monitor. Additionally, you will receive a generous allowance to ensure your home working environment is as comfortable as possible - a good chair, desk and anything else that makes your working from home life that little bit better. They take employee wellbeing very seriously - and rightly so.
In short, this is an opportunity where you can propel your career to new heights, work with the latest technologies and get your foot in the door with a real powerhouse in their field. You will be joining a global organisation who have made a name for themselves due to their ongoing commitment to their field and making no apologies for being the best in class.
If you are looking for a role which has a real impact, where you can learn a hell of a lot and take real pride in what you do - this could be the one for you.
This role is a 12-month fixed term contract, however, due to the sheer amount of work and plans they have in place, there is a strong chance this will be made permanent.
We have a budget of circa £50-60k for the right person, as well as the standard company benefits.
We're looking to have a short list drawn up by Monday next week and interviews held Friday 3rd of July.
This will consist of a couple of video calls with HR and a couple of members of the technology team to assess culture and tech fit.
They don't mess about and simply want to know if you'll fit into the small, close knit team and you have the right mix of skills to have an instant impact.
If this role sounds like it could be your next position, please apply and/or reach out to Tom Edmondson at Cathcart Associates.
