Salary: £35K - £45K per annum
HQ'd Manchester- Remote Working
Be part of the solution to a global problem.
Does it excite you to know your skill, talent, and passion will play an instrumental part in being the solution to a global problem?
Do you want to roll up your sleeves and get stuck in, working with Developers who have such a buzz about them that it radiates throughout the team? Do you want to see how your efforts will help change an industry as we know it?
You have the opportunity to join a team that is building an actual product/platform to be the digital solution to an entire industry that is decades behind the curve. It's a problem many of us have faced, with one team determined to be the solution- ready to join them?
You will be joining a company at the early stages of building something which is already taking the UK by storm. They are pioneers in fixing something that has somehow not been brought into the modern day by tech when almost everything else has.
Crucially they are doing this by putting themselves in the consumers shoes, not the corporate machine.
They are taking this thing global; the Founders have no desire to be a small-scale success story in their region. They want to be a proper household name.
Lofty ambition? Perhaps, but the Founders have bucket loads of experience and have successfully built companies in the past, so they know what they are doing.
The Tech / Your Background:
As a Software Developer, you'll have a few years commercial experience with any of the following languages- PHP, C#, Java, Python and/or C++, and be up for getting to grips with Ruby on Rails.
You will be drawing on your knowledge of, or be willing to learn, React and React Native to build their iOS and Android apps. You'll be passionate about Agile working and automation- they deploy several times a day!
Good news, you'll be working for a CTO who understands your approach to development and ability to problem solve is much more important than the language you happen to use now.
Most of the team haven't ticked every tech box, but they are good, adaptable, and ambitious engineers so have cross-trained very quickly.
To give you a rundown of their stack:
Front End: HTML, CSS - obviously … React, Redux, React Native
Back End: Ruby on Rails - most of their Dev team came from different backgrounds so don't worry if this isn't your area of expertise.
You might use all of this in your current job, if so, ideal!
You will need to be an experienced software professional who has built websites or web applications, understands the complexities and can talk to non-tech and technical people alike.
Where and How Much?
The office is in Manchester, the team has been distributed since the start so remote working and Covid hasn't impacted them much at all.
However, they do want to keep the technology team in the North West, so as long as you are comfortable commuting to the centre of Manchester if and when required and it's safe to do so, you can be based anywhere.
Salary wise - they have a budget of around £40-45k on offer plus share options, flexible start/finish times and you'll be joining a team with a real culture, not some made up nonsense for their Instagram page.
Apply now with your CV and Bronte from Cathcart Associates will be in touch to discuss the role and company in more detail.
