A leader within the FMCG industry are on the lookout for a Global Head of Behavioural Science/Strategic Designer to join their team. It's an exciting time for them as they look to develop new functionality within a team that aims to use data to be more proactive as a business. This is a new role within the company so there is lots of opportunity to make it your own!

The company's core brands are very well known worldwide, and the company operate in over 50 different countries across the globe. This team works across all different brands meaning you'll have a massive influence on how each brand approaches things in the future.

What will I be doing?

Great question!

As this is a new role within the company, it means that the role isn't completely defined. Whoever comes into the role will be able to shape it and make the role their own, which is super exciting!

There will be four main areas that you'll be covering within the role which include:

* Strategy and Research - using empathetic design thinking and research to uncover consumer insights

* Design, development & implementation - using these insights when working with the brands to improve the way they do things

* Commercialization - bring strategic value and design expertise to new ventures and business builds within the company

* Practice Development - communicate insights and educate ways of thinking/design approaches across the business

As mentioned, the company operate across the world, so you'll have the opportunity to work with people from so many different backgrounds, which is unique! You'll also have the opportunity to work across different products & services - there really is no limit as to what you'll be able to influence within the company.

Who am I?

Because of the nature of the role, they are looking for someone that can be quite scrappy and that doesn't mind working in a fast-paced environment. As mentioned, the role is new within the company and isn't completely defined, so they need someone that wants to come in and really make it their own. They also need someone that is still hands-on - you will be able to lean on internal and external resources, and will have a strong budget to achieve results, but they need this person to be someone that's "willing to get their hands dirty."

Obviously, if you have experience working within FMCG, that could be a massive bonus, but this isn't a requirement. This role might suit someone that has helped with Strategic Design, User Research, Service Design or Behavioural Science with different start ups as this is essentially a start up within a larger company. This role probably wouldn't be suited to suit someone that has worked in very corporate environments across their career as they like to work in a different way than this.

Who will I be working with?

A very talented and experienced team!

The team that you'll be joining has been growing over the last couple of years and has big plans for growth in the future. You'll be working very closely with 3 or 4 senior members of the strategic team. They're a very friendly team that are motivated to keep building on their success and see this role as a crucial part of that.

What are the benefits and where will I be based?

The main benefit of this role is the unique opportunity to work for a small start-up within a market-leading global organisation - these types of opportunities don't come along too often! Along with this, they have strong benefits including 8%+ company pension contribution, private healthcare, £1000 charity donation every year and much more.

There's no top salary for the role as the company are much more focused on securing the right person and feel like that they can compete with any other company in terms of salary.

The company have offices across the world, but you will be based within the UK. You'll be able to work remotely from wherever you are but will be able to work from any of their offices across the UK & Ireland (Edinburgh, Glasgow, London & Dublin). There will be occasional travel to some of these offices, but all expenses will be paid for and it shouldn't be too often!

If you're someone that wants to work in a truly unique opportunity then please apply and/or get in touch with Jack Steven at Cathcart Associates.
