DevOps Engineer with a security slant required for a company in Glasgow (can be fully remote).
The company have been around for several years, but are looking to go live with a crucial and highly invested product in the next six months - so you have the opportunity to quickly have a huge impact on this journey (and beyond!). Things are really ramping up for this organisation, with impressive growth planned (doubling the tech team) which offers you rapid career progression!
Currently the team do have some DevOps/Cloud/Security practices and processes in place, but would be looking for you to come on board and quickly own this (they have a contractor in currently). There will be a period of transition for you to learn the ins and outs - so don't worry that you'll just be chucked in at the deep end from Day 1!
Long-term, you'll be able to develop and cultivate the DevOps function, with focus on creating and automating environments, developing and maintaining the CI/CD pipelines, managing sensitive data on the cloud (they use AWS), and making sure their product can operate at scale. There's also some focus on the security side of things in this role, to ensure that best practices and processes are in place.
You'll have most of the following skills/experience:
**Strong cloud platform experience (the company use AWS, but any other platform also works!)
**Deploying and maintaining CI/CD pipelines - using tools like Jenkins
**Improve existing security processes and platform
**Containerisation experience - ideally with Docker, Kubernetes or Fargate
**Managing data hosted on the cloud
**Experience with a dynamic scripting language - Bash or Python
**Managing applications at scale - using Splunk or similar
**Automating and creating new environments - using Terraform or similar
The company are based in Glasgow, and like most are working remotely right now. Ideally they would like someone fairly local (Central Belt) to come in to the office on occasion, but they can also consider fully remote, and people based further afield, so please do apply!
Salary wise, the company can offer from £55,000 to £75,000, and the company also offer considerable equity in their highly backed company/product as part of their benefits package.
Simply put, this company is at a key part of their journey and have some incredible things planned that you can shape and influence from the beginning!
If this role sounds like it would be of interest (or if it sparks some curiosity, or you are looking for a DevOps/Cloud role in general) please do apply and/or reach out to Erin at Cathcart Associates.
