Automation Test Engineer
Salary: £35K - £45K per annum
Automation Test Engineer required for a global software house in Glasgow.
This company are growing quickly (stable industry, financial investment, new clients, lots of good stuff!) and are looking to add to technical team with a Test Engineer, focused on automation testing.
They are looking to re-develop and improve their award-winning platform (moving away from the monolithic and into microservices) and are working with a range of modern tech (genuinely!). As a plus, the modern tech stack offers an interesting and challenging learning environment that creates employees with skills and knowledge in cutting-edge tech.
As an Automation Engineer, you'll be joining a strong test team, focusing on developing manual and automation testing across new and existing products (but you don't need to have experience creating automation test frameworks).
You'll be someone who enjoys the collaborative process that goes along working practices such as DevOps and continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD). You'll also be passionate about ensuring that the best tools and processes are being used, and happy to vocalise this - the team have set up a dedicated suggestion box for this, and genuinely follow through on trying out new ideas that can positively impact the business.
One of the things that the team are missing is someone with knowledge across load, stress and security testing, so if this is something that you possess, you will stand head and shoulders above the crowd!
You will have most of the following skills/experience:
** Experience in a microservices environment
** Strong API testing experience
** Experience with tools/tech like: WebdriverIO, Cypress, TypeScript
** Load and stress testing
** Security testing
Location-wise, you will ideally be based local to Glasgow. Right now, everything is remote, but they would ideally like someone in the office a couple days a week in the long-term. At the very least, you need to be local enough to be able to be in the office a few days every couple of months when sprints are happening.
The salary on offer is between £35,000 - £45,000. On top of this, the benefits on offer are 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays), your birthday off, pension, and a discretionary bonus based on company performance.
This is a fast-moving company, who are dedicated to continually improving, and who genuinely encourage and listen to the ideas of their employees. If you have a thirst for knowledge and having influence in a company who work with household names, please do apply and/or get in touch with Erin at Cathcart Associates.
Too long, didn't read/scrolled to the end quickly? Simply put, you're a Tester with automation experience, who is a fan of finding the best tool/tech, and not working with something because that's the way it's always been. Maybe you've got loads of good ideas that aren't listened to, or you want to work with a more motivated, passionate team? Either way, this might be the company for you.
