IT Manager - Cloud Projects
Salary: £50K - £55K per annum
IT Manager required for a well-known public-sector body in Edinburgh. This role is for someone who has managed a small IT team and is comfortable with many aspects of cloud and Infrastructure services.
Based slightly to the west of the city centre, this organisation are going through a large period of change. This digital transformation is largely completed, however there are still major hurdles to overcome. Their modern office is easily commutable from all sides of Edinburgh, with ample parking onsite. Having recently implemented a number of new cloud platforms, this is an opportunity to continue that journey. The company have a keen appetite for modernising their IT across the board compromising mainly Microsoft technology covering Server, Desktop, Office 365, Virtualisation and Azure. This role is for someone with a strong Infrastructure background and experience of managing small teams. The current IT team is seven, and you will have to be comfortable working with these numbers and be on-hand at all times. The role also requires someone with exceptional communication and stakeholder management. You could be helping a first line support Analyst one minute and chatting to a Director the next.
You will have a small number of direct reports from the Edinburgh office, however will have responsibility for Service Delivery and Infrastructure Support across a number of Scottish sites. This role is for someone with a strong balance of Infrastructure skills and team management. With the amount of change having recently occurred, this comes with its own challenges and you will need to be prepared for this environment.
Key Skills and Experience:
** Strong Infrastructure and Network background (Ideally Microsoft - Officec365, Dynamics 365 and Azure)
** Experience of managing small IT Teams (between 4 and 25 people)
** Strong background in managing key senior stakeholders
** Understanding of ITIL and Service Management
** Experience of managing outsourced services, contractors and 3rd party providers
** Excellent technical understanding of MS Server desktop environment, O365, virtualisation, network management and cloud environment management (MS/Azure/AWS)
This is an opportunity to manage a team at the early stages of this key Digital Transformation Project. They are utilising many modern technologies and approaches and you will be a pivotal member in the direction of the team.
