Test Engineer - Edinburgh or Glasgow
Salary: £30K - £35K per annum
A well-known Scottish company are looking to bring on several QA Engineers (manual and automation) to their offices in Edinburgh or Glasgow.
The Testing team is still in it's infancy - but will play an important part in the growth of the technical team and the company's journey towards a more modern tech stack and more web-based product. It is important to them that Testing is considered at every stage of growth.
Each Tester has the opportunity to own an individual project - and to move to new projects periodically to make sure that they're gaining exposure to different technologies/team members. It is therefore a great opportunity to gain experience across a variety of tools and projects.
Day to day, the role requires someone to carry out manual and automated testing across mobile, web-based and desktop-based applications - you will need to have some coding experience (you'll have help from the Development team to build on your existing skills here). There is a foundation laid for automated testing to be implemented, so the company are keen to bring someone on board who has a passion to develop their skills in this area.
As the only Tester allocated to a certain project, you will be proactive and self-managing, and can work autonomously. There is a QA Manager overseeing the Testers, but they will not always be on site.
Some experience to modern technology is needed - this organisation is undergoing a huge push to upgrade everything - and so you will need to be someone with a similar mindset of ensuring your skills are up-to-date. If you are someone who actively researches the market, and new tools and trends, even better.
You will have experience with most of the following:
** Agile methodology
** Manual and automated testing
** One or more of the following languages - Java, Python, C#
** One or more or the following tools - Selenium, Fitnesse, Cucumber, SpecFlow, LoadRunner
** Creating SQL queries
** Testing across web-based, desktop-based and mobile applications
** Working as a sole Tester on a project

Career development and a good work-life balance is high up on the agenda for this organisation, with well-being programmes to opportunities to gain formal qualifications relevant to your role and career.
The salary on offer is from around £30,000 - £35,000 depending on experience.
