Technical Author - Software House
Salary: £30K - £350K per annum
A software house in Aberdeen are looking for a technical author to join their team.
They are looking for someone to ideally join their team onsite, however are open to the possibility of accepting remote applications from within the UK, and can discuss this on a case-by-case basis with candidates.

Working with two other technical writers, this role requires writing technical software documentation and user guides for the company's systems.
You'll be describing the features and functions including complex mathematical functions and detailing how they work and how to use them, as well as creating specific API documentation. As well as creating this, you will need to provide information about what format the APIs will need to be in to work.
The company use a lot of specialised functions so you will also need to be able to understand the technical side of things to some degree.
Your communication skills - both verbal and written - will be excellent. The majority of the role surrounds this, and you will passionate about this.
You won't be afraid to ask for help, and will happy to help others in the team - in short you'll be a team player.
You'll have a love for language, and might have done an English degree, or a Journalism degree if you don't come from a technical background. Ideally you'll have had hands-on experience in a technical role in the past.
You will also have most of the following skills/experience:
** Experience in technical writing, ideally for complex software products
** Peer-reviewing complex documents
** Creating training materials
** Agile environment
** Technical background - ideally in development
Salary and Location
The company are based in a relaxed office, with a focus on collaborative working. Based close to the city centre, the office is easily accessible via car or public transport and is filled with technical like-minded people.
They are looking to offer up to £35,000 for the right candidate along with a strong benefits package.
