Analyst Programmer
Salary: £28K - £35K per annum

Analyst Programmer/Software Developer - Edinburgh City Centre - an independent niche Financial Services organisation are recruiting for an Analyst Programmer/Developer to join their technical team.

The team are very stable (they tend to hire only because of growth, rather than replacing leavers!) and friendly; they work in a really collaborative way. People are able to play to their strengths, and develop new skills.

Unusually in this industry, the company do not outsource any IT - it's all done by their in-house team. They have a very broad technology stack, which helps to keep things interesting! They work with Microsoft/web technologies to build their web-based customer-facing applications (C#, ASP.NET MVC, JavaScript, jQuery). They also integrate with clients' 3rd party software and there's a good amount of reporting (SSRS, Business Objects, Coric). By no means are you expected to have had experience with each and every technology; training will be provided and the team are extremely helpful.

The company have a real focus on professional development and the Development Manager has a healthy budget for training and development. You really will push your skills here; both because it is a challenging and varied role, but also through more formal training.

Ideally, you'll have experience in Financial Services (but don't worry if you don't - you'll learn and training is provided!). There are monthly social nights and company-wide events to enjoy. As well as good technical skills, you must be a people person, capable of liaising with internal stakeholders up to Senior level and gathering requirements. Where appropriate, you'll escalate issues to other team members - and you'll work collaboratively with your peers.

The salary on offer is between £28,000 and £35,000 and there is a good package of benefits on top; good pension (which increases with length of service), health insurance and dental plan. They are based in gorgeous offices in Edinburgh City Centre (near very good train/tram links) and commutable from West Lothian, East Lothian/Livingston, Fife, Stirling, Falkirk, Scottish Borders, Midlothian/Penicuik/Straiton/Loanhead.
