Salaries rise for twenty sixth consecutive month
The latest Report on Jobs by REC (Recruitment Employment Confederation) shows that the worsening talent shortage has seen starting salaries rise again.
In June, salaries rose at the fastest rate since the records began back in 1997.
The survey of over 400 recruitment companies also showed consistent issues with availability of skilled labour across the country, causing the substantial salary increases.
Commenting on the survey, KPMG's Bernard Brown said, "Once again employers seem ready to 'splash the cash' in what appears to be a desperate attempt to lure skilled staff from competitors."
