Michelle Obama visits Edinburgh for charity dinner
Last month Cathcart Associates had the honour of attending a charity dinner alongside Michelle Obama.
The event, that took place on July 17th, was hosted by the Hunter Foundation at the EICC with up to 900 guests attending including philanthropy and business leaders.
Michelle Obama, Former First Lady, also attended and spoke at the gathering following the footsteps of her husband, former US President Barack Obama, who visited Scotland in May last year for a similar event with the foundation.
Sam Wason, Managing Director of Cathcart Associates, commented: “Michelle Obama was in town on Tuesday for an evening of conversation and chat, along with music from Deacon Blue and Beverly Knight, and comedy from Rob Brydon. Sounds good doesn’t it!
And it was! The chance to hear the thoughts of the former First Lady on everything from parenthood, philosophy, business as well as a few oblique references to her husband’s successor was fascinating. She was truly inspirational, and very funny. We then had some great food, great music and some hilarious auctioneering from Rob Brydon.
All in all, a once in a lifetime event. We certainly had a blast and hope our clients did too, plus the event has raised a huge amount for over 1,000 good causes. “
All profits from the event have been invested in hundreds of charities across Scotland.
