10 years in prison for lying on a CV
Yes, the title is correct.
According to a new report from the fraud prevention service, you could end up with a custodial sentence for lying on your CV! It comes under the Fraud Act 2006 apparently.
The warning was issued after latest figures showed a sharp rise in employment related fraud, where successful convictions have gone up by 60% in 12 months. So not only is the deterrent real, it appears that people are now getting caught too! 324 people were successfully prosecuted last year according to CIFAS, the UK fraud prevention service. This included submitting false paperwork and withholding information.
Keep it real people. (Literally!)
