Salary: £30K - £45K per annum
Data Engineer/Scientist required to join a successful tech company in the heart of Leeds to help them continue their rapid growth by contributing to and improving upon their current product offering.
This is a rare opportunity to join a tightknit team of high calibre data analytics professionals who are building products that have genuinely never been built before.
You will be heavily involved in building artificially intelligent products for various market sectors, using cutting edge technology.
As you will be joining a small team, the Head of Data Science isn't looking for someone who is simply keen to take orders and follow a strict product roadmap. He is looking for someone who is naturally inquisitive and keen to push the boundaries. For example, if you have an idea for a new feature, or indeed a totally new product, he'd love to you go away, build a prototype and present it to him/the team.
From day one, you will be given the chance to work on real problems and have a significant input into the team and how things are done.
You will be using Python daily to help the data analytics team launch machine learning and AI products as well as build and maintain ETL pipelines.
The team build a lot of APIs, using various frameworks - including Django, so any experience here would be beneficial. They've also explored a few of the AWS Serverless APIs, so again any understanding or indeed exposure to any of these would be great.
This is a small team, so you will be given the chance to learn from your colleagues, especially when it comes to building AI products.
To be successful in this role, you will likely be comfortable with most of the following:
** Python Programming - including: NumPy, Pandas, SciPy, Scikit-Learn
** Experience of building APIs
** Comfortable using various databases, including SQL and NoSQL
** Experience or a keen interest in Data Science techniques, including Machine Learning Models, AI, Neural Networks, Statistics
You'll be joining an established company who have ambitious growth plans for 2018, much of which hinges on the ability to take what they have discussed and road mapped and delivering it for their customer base.
This is not a highly strung, corporate organisation with needless layers of middle management. You will be working closely with the Directors and have the chance to influence all key stakeholders.
The leadership team fully appreciate that they are not Facebook or Spotify and don't have the budget for R&D that those companies have. However, what they do have is the belief that they have found a gap in the market and a real chance to add value to numerous clients across the country and indeed internationally.
